What is the One Big Goal you want to achieve this month?

DD2-735.jpg

Are you ready to dive straight in?

Ok, so today the task for you is pretty simple but it is also the most important:

What is the ONE BIG GOAL you want to achieve this month?

I recommend picking a goal that is going to require you to hustle to get it done, but also one that is realistic and not going to completely overwhelm you.

Now in order to make your goal stick you need to have a clear plan that is going to work for you so rather that choosing an unrealistic goal that is only going to makeyour head swell, set a goal that is going to challenge you, but is also realistic and attainable.

Here are the 5 simple steps to creating powerful goals that stick:

  1. Align with your why. The number one reason why we don’t reach our goals is when they’re not aligned with our purpose - A.K.A our ‘why’.

The lack of any kind of meaningful attachment to the outcome of what we’re setting out to pursue, doesn’t give us the motivation or inspiration we need to go after our goals with passion or perseverance.

Start getting into alignment by asking yourself -

  • What do I really want?

  • What does my ideal life look like?

  • Where do I want to be in 5 years time?

  • What is holding me back?

As soon as we get this clarity on our biggest desires and what is important to us, the process of setting goals aligned with this vision becomes really easy as we’re bringing this amazing energy to consciously create this future version of our lives.

2. Be specific in terms of what you want to achieve. Set goals that are specific and make sense to you - there is no need to overcomplicate matters here.

3. Make it attainable. The more realistic your goal is the more inclined you will be to work towards it. Setting something that is not within the realms of possibility right now is only going to leave you frustrated and unmotivated to work on it.

4. Break it down and create milestones. Breaking down the steps you need to achieve your goal helps make it way less overwhelming and by creating milestones for each different part of your goal you can help keep yourself accountable by having clear parameters for what you need to achieve in a specific time period.

5. Review your goals daily.  Reviewing our goals daily ensures they are top of mind - this step is essential for keeping the momentum going with any goal we set.

The No. 1 reason why people don’t reach their goals is because they don’t stay close to them, making it super easy for us to forget, lose interest or plain just ‘can’t be bothered'.

Out of sight, out of mind, right?

Make the commitment to keep your goals close by and document them in your goals planner. Then begin to create a daily habit of reviewing them and making them part of your  routine.

This simple trick makes it SO much easier to keep our next best steps top of mind; plan each day with intention and we know exactly where we are headed!

YOUR CHALLENGE TODAY:

Your task today is to decide on the ONE BIG GOAL you want to achieve by the end of this 30 days and break down each of the steps you need to make it happen, over the four weeks.

So for example, if you know your goal is to launch your eBook, then break this down into the steps you need to create it and how you will do this over the next 30 days.

Lucky for you I have made it super simple and created a pretty worksheet for your One Big Goal which details all of the steps you need to go about it getting it done!

>>> Download the worksheet and set your goal<<<

Now, I want you to say it out loud and keep yourself accountable!

6 tools to supercharge your productivity

DD735_Module2_1.jpg

I’m a big fan of using apps and tools to help me better manage my time - there loads of awesome tools these days specially designed to help you be more productive - so use them!

Here are 6 of my favorites that will help you kick your daily goals:

1. Focus Booster

Focus Booster is great if you find yourself procrastinating on things and really want to focus your time. It’s based on the Pomodoro technique which is when you work in 25 minute time blocks.

It has a timer set to 25 minutes and you can set up your preferences so that you get a warning when you’re nearing your deadline and it gives an alert when the 25 minutes is up.

This has helped me be so much more focused with my time and it’s kinda fun with the gamified element that sees you racing against the clock to get stuff done!

Get it here.

2. Self-Control

Self Control is brilliant if you get distracted easily while on your computer, as you can deem certain sites ‘off-limits’ while you work.

So if you find yourself getting distracted by Facebook or Pinterest, or even your own site - block them for a specified time period so you know you can let them distract you!

Get it here.

3. Kill News Feed

Kill News Feed is a Chrome plugin which quite simply kills the newsfeed on Facebook so you don’t get distracted when you login.

This is brilliant if you spend a lot of time in Facebook Groups and you don’t want to be distracted by the News Feed each time you go on to engage with these groups.

4. My Minutes

I love My Minutes because it lets you create daily goals for yourself which you then have to allocate a specific time to.

You can then set up the days/dates you want to achieve these goals by and it records them for you when you’ve successfully completed them, allowing you to easily see how much you have achieved.

Seeing your progress is a brilliant way to keep motivated. It does cost $3.79, but the ability to keep yourself accountable and see your progress makes it well worth it in my view!

Get it here.

5. Toggl

Ok, Toggl hands down has to be my favorite.

It lets you enter tasks you’re working on (that you can easily assign to clients or specific projects) and then it records how long you’re spending on it.

The gamified element again makes this really fun, but it helps give you an overview of what tasks you have and then how long you’re spending on them.

Once you start the timer that’s it - so if you’re like me and can get easily distracted, it will show you taking longer for the task.

A good incentive to be super focus with your time and energy! I also love the ability to tag and categorize your tasks which gives you the feeling of being super organized and in control of everything you need to get done. Win!

6. Brain FM

Brain FM one of my favorite tools that helps keep me focused during the day. It’s music designed intentionally help you focus, sleep or to meditate. I personally just use the focus music. You can get 2 free sessions a day or otherwise pay for the subscription which is super reasonable!

I love it because you can set the time for how long you want to focus for and it will play the music for that specific period.

For best results, listen with your headphones!

The simple hack to make positive mindset a daily habit

DD735_Module2_2.jpg

Do you want to know the single most important thing you need to be successful in designing the life you've been dreaming about?

It’s having a positive mindset.

If you've been part of my tribe for a while you will know that I’m a huge fan of positive affirmations to help shift your mindset so you become the conscious creator of your thoughts.

You see, if we let them, our thoughts have the ability to take over and make us believe all kinds of ridiculous things about ourselves.

But the thing is, YOU actually have the power to control these limiting thoughts.

Consciously creating your thoughts doesn’t need to be complicated or onerous, but it does require your commitment to benefit from the full impact on your emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.

The first step is to become aware of your thoughts and then it’s just about making it a daily habit to become the master of your thoughts.

I read about this hack in Gabby Bernstein’s Miracles Book and thought it was freaking brilliant - and super simple!

So here it is:

Grab an elastic band and put it on your wrist. Every time a negative, self-defeating thought pops into your head, snap the band on your wrist and jolt yourself and instantly replace the negative thought with a positive thought or affirmation.

See how genius it is?

Here are a few affirmations to get you started:

  • Comparison: I have as much brightness to offer the world as the next person
  • Perfectionism: I see the perfection in all of my flaws and all my genius.
  • Uncertainty and worry: I trust in the universe all that’s meant to be will be.
  • Self-doubt:  I have faith in my ability to manifest my desires.

Remember, it’s all about making this a daily habit! Once it’s a habit it will become like second nature to you and you will see your success skyrocket.

You got this!

Your challenge today:

Head to the Facebook Group and share one of your favorite affirmations that helps to realign your mindset in the right direction.

Plan your daily priorities

DD11-735.jpg

How are you feeling? Pumped? Good!

Ok, so now that you have set your One Big Goal and detailed all of the steps, today I want you to set out your plan for the rest of this week.

You see, even though you’ve set your one big goal this month, it’s your daily actions and having a solid plan that will see you meeting your big goal.

Planning daily priorities is a foundational skill that will keep you focused on long-term goals throughout your daily life.

And to help you set your week up for success and see you meeting those OBG milestones, I’ve created an intentional Weekly Goals Planner to help keep you on track during the month.

How to use the planner:

  • Set your focus for this week - what is the main thing you need to get done?
  • Plan each day’s tasks so you know what you need to accomplish by the end of each day to reach your goal for the week.
  • Record additional tasks in your to-do - there are always small things that come up and may not always be able to predict - keep a track of these and record them using the to-do list. That way you won't forget them and can easily slot them into your week.

YOUR CHALLENGE TODAY:

Print out your Weekly Goals Planner and get busy planning your week ahead!

Daily affirmation: I accomplish everything I set out to do.

Do less, but better

DD735_Module2_3.jpg

I want to have a moment of truth with you: how busy are you, really?

Are you truly, flat out busy, or are you just with busying yourself with fluff and things around the edges without actually moving forward or making progress on where you actually need to be?

Thing is, for you to make a big impact you need to focus your energy and time on activities that are going to see you getting tangible results.

And the more you are super clear on what your goals and vision is, the more you can focus your time spending it on wisely on activities that are delivering you these tangible results.

My case point is social media.

Love it or hate it, to be running a business or blog these days it pretty much goes with the territory. It has the potential to be a time suck, but at the same time it comes with a huge amount of opportunity, because of the exposure it can offer you.

So many people I see make the mistake of trying to be across every single platform because they don’t want to miss out, but they end up getting bogged down creating content for all these different channels and seeing less than average results.

Focus is the key! Don’t try and be amazing at everything because it won’t work.

Pick channels that you naturally excel at, or at least enjoy. Then set up a system that connects all of your various channels so you don’t need to spend time creating content for all of them.

This same philosophy applies to anything you're spending your time and energy on.

Your challenge today:

Review everything you spent your time today on and reflect on these questions:

  •  Are the activities that are demanding your time aligned with your overall vision?
  • Is your energy being spent on tasks that are delivering you results?
  • What can you remove from my day/week that is not delivering you the results you want?
  • What would you be able to create if you trimmed down what you're spending your time on to only the few things that truly matter?

Daily affirmation: My to-do list is focused only on those tasks which are important to attaining my goals.

Let’s make it happen!

Get your Big Rocks in first

DD4_735.jpg

Let me ask you a question: How many times have you sat looking at your to-do list and decided to work on the easy ones first because you know you can cross them off your list quickly?

I’m going to take a guess and say this has happens on a regular basis.

Want to know a secret?

Getting your ‘big rocks’ or most meaty tasks in first is single most important thing you can do to make the best use of your time and be as efficient as possible.

Why is this so genius?

Because it’s easy to find the time and make room for smaller tasks. But those bigger tasks? They need more time dedicated to making them happen and by prioritizing these first we can be assured they will always get done.

So when you’re planning out your time, plot out the big rocks you want to get done and work on them first. Simple.

YOUR CHALLENGE TODAY:

  1. Pull out your weekly planner and identify what the big rocks for you this week are.
  2. I want you challenge you to knock of ONE of these big rocks today.

Simple, right!?

Now head over to the Facebook Group and share what you're going to tackle this week!

I know you can do this; here’s to making it happen!

Daily affirmation: Today I am creating my future and it is amazing.

Love,
Rachel x

Clear the clutter

DD735_Module2_4.jpg

Some schools of thought will tell you that a messy desk is good for creativity, but I beg to differ.

Clutter has a profound impact on our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being and when the space where we need to focus and be our most creative self, is filled with clutter we are not doing ourselves any favors.

When your outer world is in chaos, chances are your inner world is too and it’s affecting your creativity as well as your ability to focus.

Clearing the clutter helps with mental clarity and inspiration.

Dedicate an hour today getting your home and workspace in a state that is conducive to you being most productive.

Get organized and clear out anything that is no longer serving you in both your physical and digital spaces.

Ask yourself: Is it in alignment with your goals? Does it serve a purpose for you? If not, get rid of it.

Clutter weighs you down!

Physical space

  • Clean out your workspace, file away papers, tie up any loose ends.
  • Set up a folder system so you can file your important papers straight away and they’re not left piling up or lying around.
  • Organize your desk and give everything a home. I find using varying sized boxes in my workspace is a great way to reduce clutter – they look pretty and are a practical way to store your belongings. My favorites are these. I'm also obsessed with Poppin who make a ton of stylish (and affordable) office solutions to help organize your space!
  • Clean out any drawers that and rid of anything old or you don't need anymore. Then reorganize it!

Digital space

  • Review any recurring payments for subscriptions and cancel those that are no longer providing you value.

  • Clear your desktop and organize your folder structure so that all of your files are saved in the relevant folders.

  • Delete any images and large files that are no longer needed and taking up space.

  • Unsubscribe from emails clogging your inbox and that are not serving you. Unroll.me is a lifesaver –  it literally does a scan of your inbox for all of your active subscriptions so you can delete them on the spot! How’s that for efficiency?

Daily affirmation:

I keep my workplace tidy and organized, so my mind can focus on my most important priorities.
