Quit multi-tasking!

As women, we are natural born multi-taskers and in fact I’m going to take a guess that you've been secretly proud of your ability to multi-task and get stuff done.

BUT multi-tasking is also a huge productivity killer.

Uh-huh.

Bet you didn’t think I was going to say that, did you?

Research backs it up that our brains can only cope with a finite amount of attention; so when we continuously switch between tasks it actually takes longer to resume our focus and as a result, our work takes way longer than it needs to!

We may call it multi-tasking, but given the way our brain works, the more appropriate term is switching-tasking: our focus is reduced by the attention expended on switching gears which means we never get fully ‘in the zone’ for either activity.

So, you want to get more stuff done?

Here is the the simple solution: focus on one task at a time. 

Your challenge today:

Your challenge today is to become really aware of when you multi-task - sometimes we do it subconsciously (I know I’m guilty of this!).

But by becoming keenly aware means you can re-think the way you work and direct all of your energy into specific tasks, getting way more done in the process!

Right now, my energy is focused on what is most important to my plans for the future.
