The 5 Second rule for success
You want to know the recurring theme I hear from people who have a big dream but haven’t made it happen yet? They aren’t motivated enough to do it, or they just don’t feel like it.
Newsflash: you are NEVER going to feel like it.
There is never going to be a time when you say “oh I really feel like jumping out of my comfy bed this morning”; or after a long day at work, you’re not going to be saying “I can’t wait to write that sales page” - nope it just won’t happen.
But here’s the thing: when you have a goal, a dream and a vision, you need to have the strength AKA discipline to be able to push past this resistance and keep going - yep even when you don’t feel like it.
The reason why you will never feel like it is because as humans we love, love the feeling of being comfortable; which is all well and good, but not when you have a dream you want to bring to life.
The real magic starts happening when you force yourself to do the things you don’t feel like doing: out of your head, past your feelings and outside of your comfort zone.
You have a goal. You know why you need to do it. Don’t wait until you feel motivated - that won’t come.
Try this instead: next time you don’t feel like doing something, apply the 5 second rule.
You have 5 seconds to start doing the thing you don’t feel like doing. Don’t give yourself the time to think about it or talk yourself out of it - take action!
You know what you need to do - so go and do it!!
